Troubleshooting
General TV Reception
- No signal or bad signal message displayed:

Possible Causes:
Aerial is disconnected.
Aerial is damaged or misaligned.
Out of the digital signal reception area.
Missed channel.
Action:
Check antenna lead.
Check antenna.
Check with your supplier.
Try using manual search instead of auto search. Auto search can sometimes miss a channel.
Try using an aerial known to receive a good signal when used with other TV sets.
- No picture or sound:
- Possible Causes:
You may be tuned to a digital teletext channel.
Action:
Switch to a channel you know to have video and sound
- Scrambled channel message:

Possible Causes:
Channel is scrambled
Action:
Select another channel known not to require a subscription.
- Default PIN Code:

Possible Causes:
The original PIN Code (factory set) if you haven't changed it.
Action:
The default PIN Code is "0000"
- Gold PIN Code :

Possible Causes:
If you forget the PIN code that you have changed to, you can input the Gold PIN code to replace it.
Action:
The Gold PIN Code is "8888"
- You can no longer receive a digital signal after moving the player to another room.:

Possible Causes:
The aerial feed from the new point may come through a distribution system which may reduce the digital signal received.
Action:
Try connecting directly to the aerial.
Recording Problems
- You cannot record using a USB memory device or an SD card memory device:

Possible Causes:
The memory device may not be properly connected.
Action:
Check to see if the USB memory device or SD memory card is properly connected to the player.
- You cannot record using a USB memory device or an SD card memory device:
-
Possible Causes:
The SD card memory or USB memory device may not be fast enough
Action:
Ensure that the SD card memory is high speed (150X) or that the USB device is a USB2.0 device.
- You cannot record using a USB memory device or an SD card memory device:

Possible Causes:
The memory device may be write protected. Check to see that the SD card or USB device are not write protected (read only).
Action:
They should be set for read and write operation.
- You cannot record using a USB memory device or an SD card memory device:

Possible Causes:
The memory device may be incorrectly formatted.
Action:
Check that the USB device or SD card is formatted to FAT32
- You cannot record using a USB memory device or an SD card memory device:

Possible Causes:
The device has insufficient memory available. Check that there is enough space in the memory device.
Action:
Check that there is enough space in the memory device.
- You cannot record using a USB memory device or an SD card memory device:

Possible Causes:
The memory device may be infected with a virus.
Action:
Carry out a virus check on the memory device. If one is found, kill the virus before using the device again.
General Problems
- The player cannot read the USB device or SD card:

Possible Cause & Action:
Ensure that the SD card and/or USB device are properly connected to the player.
To play the USB device, you must remove the SD card from the player.
If there is a disc in the player, make sure you change to "USB/CARD" by pressing the"MEDIA"button so READ USB/CARD is displayed. If there isn't a disc in the player, close the disc drive lid fully and it will automatically play USB files.
Problem:
The player cannot play a disc.
- You cannot record using a USB memory device or an SD card memory device:

Possible Causes:
The memory device may be infected with a virus.
Action:
Carry out a virus check on the memory device. If one is found, kill the virus before using the device again.
- The TV channel has a picture, but no sound:

Possible Cause & Action
Because your player supports world TV systems (including the system in France), you must select the correct sound system to match your TV signal. You can select from: BG, DK, I, L, or MN. Choose to suit the country from where the TV channel is transmitted.
- The remote controller appears not to be working:

Possible Cause & Action
The remote control battery maybe discharged. Check and replace the battery if necessary.
You must aim the remote controller at the "IR-SENSOR" on the front edge of the player base unit. Also ensure both transmitter and receiver sensors are not covered or dirty. If necessary clean. .
- When the player is connected to a TV set to watch a DVD playing on the player, the TV picture is not in colour:

Possible Cause & Action
The incorrect TV system may be set. Try changing the TV system setting by choosing another of the available options: PAL/NTSC/Auto. .
- Why are"DVD+R", "DVD+RW" and "DVD-RW" discs sometimes difficult to play?

Possible Cause & Action
The "DVD-R" disc is better than "DVD+R" "DVD+RW" and "DVD-RW" discs. If your DVD RW driver in your PC is not very good, or the DVD disc is not a good quality disc, or the method of writing the DVD disc is not right, the unit will not play the "DVD+R" "DVD+RW" "DVD-RW" discs. .
- Why do some DVDs not play and I am asked to enter a password? I cannot play the disc because I don't know the password.

Possible Cause & Action
When the DVD Rating is higher than the Rating set in your player, you will be prompted to input the password. There are two method to playing the disc.
1. You can input the password that you have set. If you have forgotten the password, you can input the Gold PIN instead. However, you will not be able to watch the DVD currently loaded.
2. You can set the Rating to a higher level so that a password will not be required for any disc. Refer to page 79 for details.
Note. Method 2 will remove Parental Control so you will not be able to automatically control the program material your children watch on the player, which may be unsuitable for them. .
- How do I start a game from the CD?

Possible Cause & Action
Use the numeric keys on the remote controller to select the game; you can then use the game control pad to play the game. See page 88 for more details. .
- When using a 'Leisure battery' to power the unit, the unit failed to power up.

Possible Cause & Action
This would result if the leisure battery voltage dropped below 12V which could happen when the battery is nearly exhausted. Ensure the battery is not exhausted. If necessary, replace the leisure battery. .
LCD Screen
- There is a dark, bright or coloured dot constantly on the screen.

Possible Cause & Action
A permanent dark, bright or coloured dot on an LCD screen is known as a ‘dead pixel’ or a ‘stuck pixel’. The screen has been manufactured in line with common industry standards, to a tolerance of 99.999% or up to 5 dead pixels. A product with 5 or less pixel anomalies is not deemed to be faulty. If the LCD panel has more than 5 dead pixels, please contact your vendor.
